For a Kent wedding, we will often be asked to supply a string quartet to play both during the marriage service (entrance of the bride, signing of the register, exit of the happy couple) and afterwards outside, while drinks and canapés are served. We generally charge a fixed deposit and then an hourly fee on top, with 3 hours on-site being a typical scenario. We are very flexible though: on occasion we have played as two violinists accompanying church hymns in descants arranged by the local organist, or as a mixed strings & wind ensemble for a birthday garden party, or as a piano quintet for a remembrance service, in addition to our 'big band' work with the Railway Swing Band and frequent appearances together with Thanet Light Orchestra. We would always expect to discuss the types of music to be played well in advance, and perhaps make a site visit too, to check seating positions etc. We can accommodate most requests with sufficient notice. Note that we're acoustic, so don't require any electric power: just provide some chairs and we're done.
